The MTZ®Foundation, which celebrates its 20th anniversary next year, and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) will award the prize for systems medicine every two years to three pioneering doctoral theses in the future-oriented research field of systems medicine and systems-oriented health research. The aim is to create public recognition for outstanding research work and special visibility for pioneering young scientists.
The prize is endowed with prize money and will traditionally be awarded at the 10th international conference “Systems Biology of Mammalian Cells” (SMBC), which is planned under the motto “From Data and Models to E-Health” from May 4 to 6, 2026 in Mannheim (Barockschloss Mannheim).
The prerequisite for a successful application is a defended dissertation in the period February 2024 to January 2026 (deadline 31.01.2026).
