MONID - Modeling network for severe infectious diseases

The Modeling Network for Severe Infectious Diseases is a research network founded in May 2022 and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). It consists of ten research consortia, three of them associated, and an overarching coordinating office.

The modeling network’s focus is to strengthen the interdisciplinary exchange of leading scientists active in this field. In addition, the network is dedicated to the promotion of young scientists in order to sustainably strengthen modeling competence in Germany.

Regarding the current pandemic situation the Modeling Network for Severe Infectious Diseases is the first point of contact for inquiries from the German government.
