MONID - Modeling network for severe infectious diseases
The Modeling Network for Severe Infectious Diseases is a research network funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR, formerly BMBF). It was launched in May 2022 and comprised ten research consortia in the first project phase (2022-2025), three of which were associated. In the second funding phase (2026-2029), it consists of seven consortia and a superordinate coordination office, which was also active in the first phase.
The modeling network focuses on strengthening the interdisciplinary exchange of leading scientists in this field and serves as a direct point of contact for political decision-makers. In addition, the network supports young scientists in order to sustainably strengthen modeling expertise in Germany.
