The Modeling Network for Major Infectious Diseases (MONID) has published a statement on the burden of SARS-CoV-2 infections on the population and the healthcare system in winter 2023/24 and estimates of the burden of other respiratory infections.
The statement is based on the results of the 3rd round of joint scenario modeling by MONID.
For this purpose, four scenarios were developed in which different assumptions were made about immunity in the population, hospitalization risks due to SARS-CoV-2 infections and the composition of the virus variants. In addition, the results of modeling the course of RSV infections in the winter of 2023/24 were taken into account.
