Infectious Diseases is a research network funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR, formerly BMBF). It was launched in May 2022 and comprised ten research consortia in the <a href=\"https:\/\/monid.net\/en\/research-networks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first project phase<\/a> (2022-2025), three of which were associated. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/monid.net\/en\/research-networks-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">second funding phase<\/a> (2026-2029), it consists of seven consortia and a superordinate coordination office, which was also active in the first phase.  <\/p><p>The modeling network focuses on strengthening the interdisciplinary exchange of leading scientists in this field and serves as a direct point of contact for political decision-makers.
